Message from Chairman, Kathleen Daugherty

As the Chair of the South Windsor Republican Town Committee, I would like to welcome you to our website. Please take an opportunity to look around and get acquainted with your local leaders, get a feel for what is happening in South Windsor, and get involved!
I want to thank every voter who came out to vote on November 8th. While only 31% of our registered voters took the time to vote your message was loud and clear. Every Republican candidate won their respective races and the Republicans will reclaim the majority on the Town Council in a 6-3 supermajority.
The message from the Republican Party during the campaign was simple:
“WE HEAR YOU, EVERY DOLLAR COUNTS”. and we will continue to hear you and remember that every vote counts
I welcome you to explore our website or Facebook site and invite you to join our team!
If you are interested in coming to a Republican Town Commitee meeting call me at (860) 306-4117. You will always be welcome.
Our Next Meeting is Thursday, November 17 at 7:00pm Madden Room at Town Hall
Message from the Mayor, Tom Delnicki
It’s hard to believe what our Community has gone thru this year, we had mountains of snow in February that crushed roofs and brought about the demise of the old Ten Pin Bowling Alley, an Earth Quake and Tropical Storm Irene in August and now an October Nor’easter Alfred. Alfred brought a level of destruction the likes of which most of us have never seen before, yet South Windsor still stands. The reason for our communities resilience is simple, the Volunteers, the South Windsor Volunteer Fire Department, the Ambulance Corp, the Town Staff and our People. We have had the motto “One Town – One Future” for years, now it has taken on a new meaning when the chips are down and everyone steps up to the plate to help out.
The next time you see one our Town Employees, a volunteer, a Volunteer Fire Fighter, an Ambulance Corp Member, or a neighbor that lent a hand during this crisis give them a hardy thank you. If you are one of the people that stepped up to the plate I’d like to say “Thank You” on behalf of our Community.
As for the damage done to South Windsor, we have contracted with Ash Britt, a national leader in disaster clean up. This company has a State of Connecticut Contract that we were able to utilize to secure their services. They began their work before Veterans Day. I was impressed by their platoon of trucks that have been traveling down Oakland Rd, making trip after trip to the drop off site on Chappel Rd. Their initial goal is to have the first round of Debris pick up completed by Thanksgiving. The ultimate goal is simple, remove the mountains of debris from our neighborhoods, return our community to normal and do this as quickly as humanly possible.
Knowledge is power, in order to keep everyone informed of the progress, the Town Manager will provide an update at every Town Council meeting until the job is completed. Additionally there will be information on the Town Web Site, www.southwindsor.org.
This is a challenge we do not take lightly and failure is not an option. For those that wish to drop off storm debris the location for this is the VMP Pool parking lot on Pleasant Valley Rd.
To all Stay Safe and enjoy Thanksgiving.

Our candidates have been carefully vetted and selected to ensure all are interested in working for a better South Windsor.
